Job Summary

In addition to the regular policy services responsibilities, the Underwriter role includes assisting with the day to day workflow of the department as well as the authority to make certain decisions based on their knowledge and experience. The team will be trained in accordance to the clients underwriting requirements and also trained on the system of record. The tasks include reviewing homeowner policy submissions from agents and rotating UW call center support.

Essential Functions

  • Process high volumes of transactions with accuracy rate of 98% or better
  • Rotations in the Underwriting Call Team
  • Knowledge of property & casualty insurance coverage and products
  • Assist with tracking the quality of processing, recommend corrections, and assist in retraining where necessary
  • Identify and assist with implementing workflow improvements
  • Attends team meetings and performs other duties as assigned
  • Meets or exceeds status for all performance reviews
  • Meets or exceeds guidelines of the department’s training matrix
  • Meets self-management expectations (arrives on time daily, responsible management of time, conducts themselves in a professional manner, work is delivered at a consistent rate and at a high level of accuracy, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
