Manufacturing Engineer
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity with a growing client of ours in Suwanee GA. A successful Manufacturing Engineer candidate will add value through; improving process capability, reliability and mistake proofing, supporting acquisition, installation and use of new equipment improvements to existing, and provide oversight and support of facility changes 

Responsibilities of The Manufacturing Engineer

  • Design/implement robust, capable/reliable processes that eliminate the potential for human error (mistake proof the processes) to ensure product conformance and safety requirements
  • Lead Change Management activities and provide project management support to ensure that deadlines are met 
  • Support Change Management by conducting research and analysis to evaluate feasibility, risk, cost and ongoing maintenance of change
  • Lead/Facilitate FMEA teams to eliminate risk and waste; track projects and provide regular updates
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their changing needs and to implement solutions
  • Use Problem Solving techniques, Lean, and Six-Sigma tools to lead teams in implementing continuous improvements, visual management and safety improvements
  • Conduct detailed gap analysis on all aspects of manufacturing performance
  • Design and implement processes that eliminate the opportunity for quality failures and quality escapes and enable 100% defect free product
  • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specification  
  • Identifies preventative maintenance items, critical parts and maintains all equipment schematics and software
  • Understand the causes of machine downtime, implement solutions, and provide technical support to maintenance

Job Requirements of The Manufacturing Engineer

  • 3-5 years of experience in process/quality/development engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Engineering or Technical field
  • Composites processing Experiencing (preference to those with slitting and spooling experience)
  • Experience with Programming and Troubleshooting PLC systems 
  • Project Management Experience 
  • Green Belt or Black Belt with experience and success using FMEA, DOE, SMED, SPC, ANOVA and 5S
  • 3D Modeling experience Auto-Cad Inventor is a plus
