Pillar House Selective Soldering Machine Operator


Job Overview:  Under the direction of Engineering or Supervisor,  the Pillar house operator safely sets up the machine and operates the machine to produce quality product.  Other tasks may be assigned as required.

Detail of Responsibilities:

  • Sets up the Pillar House per VAs
  • Operates Pillar House machine
  • Performs inspection and touch up of thru hole components  and makes sure all locations are populated as per instructions
  • Accomplishes these activities with the use of soldering irons, water soluble and no clean chemistries, miscellaneous hand tools and microscopes

Skill Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of IPC 610A level II guidelines  and minimum  2 years of experience as a hand-solderer is required
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering assembly documentation and instructions
  • Meet or exceed assembly time standards set by the production manager  while producing high quality workmanship

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Safety Requirements:

  • Candidate will follow all safety rules as dictated by policies and procedures and/or the Employee Handbook

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing: Frequently
  • Sitting:  Occasionally
  • Lifting: Frequently

Other Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610
  • Basic computer skills
  • Works well with little to no supervision
  • Must be a team player and willing to perform  other duties as required
