Job Title: Production Manager

A client of ours near Bellmawr, NJ is looking to hire a Production Manager to help develop a high performance team

Responsibilities of the Production Manager:

  • Drive manufacturing performance in alignment with business goals and objectives
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to drive to the root cause of issues and implement corrective /       preventive actions as necessary
  • Teach and provide mentorship to production team leaders in the areas of associate engagement, motivation, development and retention, project management, lean manufacturing, and other skills required of an effective production leader. 
  • Assess the need, propose, and implement appropriate metrics that represent department, plant and / or overall production team success
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in productivity and / or material usage and implement the appropriate actions
  • Develop employee training programs as a part of introducing new protocols or procedures
  • Engage in Stage Gate R&D process providing production team input as required

Requirements of the Production Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business & Management, Engineering, or Operations, and 5 - 7 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in: Production, Logistics, or other Operations Functional Leadership
  • Lean manufacturing and / or continual improvement practices
  • Use of project management tools
  • Metrics development and reporting
  • Basic accounting / financial knowledge
  • Calculating return on investment
  • Understanding the ramifications of production decisions and their corresponding effect on the bottom-line of the business
  • Demonstrated ability to influence all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communication with nonexempt workforce
  • Ability to present proposals and influence senior business leaders

Desired Skills of Production Manager:

  • Experience working in a QMS environment (ISO9000 or other Quality Management System)
  • Knowledge of process and workflow design
  • Advanced experience using MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and Google Docs
  • Experience with FileMaker is a PLUS!
