Description

Quality Inspector

 

2nd shift

 

Responsible for activities related to audits and inspection of extruded and fabricated products.

  • Inspect product dimensional and aesthetics to established standards and drawing requirements using calipers, micrometers, visual-aides
  • Maintain records of inspection results using Excel database
  • Perform 1st level package and labeling of completed product for shipment/inventory
  • Work with Shipping and Production departments to ensure inspection is completed in a timely manner to daily shipping schedule.
  • Assist Production with drawing/product in process as necessary
  • Perform incoming inspection of raw materials as needed
  • Communicate quality issues and out of specifications conditions to appropriate personnel and with Production Supervisor.

 

Skill Qualification

  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings in English
  • Ability to use hand measurement tools such as calipers, Vernier, micrometer, tape-measure, etc.
  • Must be able to effectively understand and communicate process/product requirements and have the ability to interface with all departments
  • Solid organizational and  good record keeping skills
  • Solid math skills
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs repetitively
  • Ability to stand for 2 or more hours
  • Ability to work within a manufacturing environment
  • Safe work practices
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Skills

  • Understands the role of Quality in a manufacturing organization and a Quality Operating System, Automotive experience preferred.
  • Audit compliance with ISO 9001 standard
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office basics such as Excel, Word, Outlook (email)

 

Must be fluent in English, spoken, written and reading.

High school diploma or its equivalent.

3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment, with one or more years involved with inspection.
