Description

Mechanical Refrigeration Technician

Temp to Permanent Position 

The Position

Reports to:  Production Manager      

Aspen Systems develops advanced technologies and products for commercial, industrial, medical, and defense applications. We offer small and lightweight thermal management systems for use in micro-climate cooling and electronics cooling, based on an efficient vapor compression refrigeration cycle utilizing our unique miniature compressor.  This position will have responsibility for mechanical assembly and testing of cooling system products.

Primary responsibilities, skills include:

  • A thorough understanding of the theoretical principals of vapor compression cooling
  • Soldering and brazing of copper tubing and refrigeration system components
  • Experience with refrigeration evacuation and charging equipment, gauges, etc.
  • Mechanical assembly utilizing simple hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.)
  • Use hydrogen and refrigerant leak detectors
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Technical trade school with EPA Section 608 Certificate
  • 5+ years in product assembly or
  • Experience working in ISO 9001:2008 regulated manufacturing environments (desired)
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office products
