Job Summary


The individual in this position will perform a diverse range of responsibilities supporting engineering development and production to assist the organization in meeting its goals for growth, product quality and customer satisfaction.

Previous Education/Experience

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in testing, debugging, evaluating and soldering electronic circuits and assemblies

• Minimum of Associate’s Degree from Technical School or College in technical discipline • Suitable combination of education and experience will be considered. Required Skills/Competencies

• Able to read schematics, interpret and troubleshoot electronic assemblies to component level

• Proficient with lab/test equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, voltage meters, ESD testers, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers etc.)

• Familiarity with surface mount equipment and processes to support in-house SMT operation

• Soldering experience (familiar with surface mount and thru-hole, and able to rework as required) • Manual dexterity with hand tools

• Able to assist with reconciliation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) from schematics and sourcing generic components for new projects

• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

• Able to work with frequent interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected situations

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal, primarily in English) • Computer skills – proficient with Microsoft Suite of products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Time management skills – able to plan and perform a wide variety of engineering duties in support of company requirements, products and procedures

• Experience with electronic calibration and ISO 17025 a plus Job Responsibilities (E=Essential Function) The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Engineering Technician include, but are not limited to the following: E Initiate, conduct and analyze testing and evaluation on diverse electrical assemblies to support/ensure high quality designs, thoroughly documenting results


E Provide administrative assistance to the CTO and Engineering Department

E Perform engineering-directed documentation research and analysis on new technology and components

E Assist engineers in ECO/ECN processes (documentation level)

E Contribute to new product design, test fixtures and assembly techniques

E Evaluate and document performance of new products and prototypes under engineering direction

E Utilize engineering databases (including bug tracking)

E Maintain an organized, clean, safe Engineering Lab which is well-supplied with necessary components and kits (“Parts Librarian”) E Organize, kit and prepare parts for prototype build

E Build pre-production units utilizing soldering skills and knowledge of electronic components

E Review engineering data and compile lists of materials, parts and equipment for manufacturing product

E Facilitate preparing and validating production assembly work and test instructions

E Provide support to Production as required to assist in meeting quality and revenue goals

E Provide training as necessary to assembly and test personnel

• Other duties as assigned

Accountability and Reporting

• This position reports to the Engineering Manager but may take direction from/assist the CTO Supervisory Responsibilities None. However, may mentor less experienced technicians and production personnel
