Description

Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to join our organization in a temporary capacity. In this role, the individual will be joining a team that is responsible for establishing policy and coordinating activities for export and import regulatory compliance on a worldwide basis.  The team not only ensures adherence to import and export requirements, but is instrumental in facilitating trade by increasing the speed of supply chain while decreasing risk and meeting the needs of a growing global customer base.  

Requirements:

  • Executing project related to activities involving export/import regulatory compliance including, but not limited to, ECCN product classifications, harmonized tariff classifications, country of origin determination, product valuation reporting, export license applications, Automated Export System reporting, obtaining and reviewing end use statements for exports, and sanctioned party list screening. Manage US Customs and Border Protection trade program participation (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, Importer Self Assessment Program, etc).
  • Assists with responses to and data inquiries from internal / external customers, foreign subsidiaries, distributors, vendors, brokers and carriers to ensure compliance with all applicable import / export regulations.
  • Reviews internal controls program to ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products.
  • Provides support to the continual improvement process related to Compliance Program and document revisions of internal controls and procedures.
  • Assist with periodic export and import self assessments (compliance audits) and documents any necessary corrective actions.
  • Strong collaboration with other departments such as, but not limited to, planning, procurement, product marketing, logistics, order entry, and engineering functions is required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field. Minimum of 1 year of Trade compliance or trade related experience required
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, US Customs regulations, US Export Administration Regulations international business practices, transportation laws, is desirable
  • Experience in finance and auditing procedures helpful
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP, desired
  • Demonstrated ability to generate collaborative processes and integrate business solutions globally
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks
  • Possess excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to solve problems in a dynamic environment
  • Must be a team player and self starter; high bias toward action
