Accounting Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:  The person will backfill 50% of the Senior Accounting Manager’s duties during the ERP implementation. The position will support all the accounting functions for North America, including monthly close, footnote preparation, inter-company transactions, general ledger integrity, financial systems integrity, and compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements.


  • Complete the month-end close process in an accurate and timely manner
  • Accountable for SOX compliance for US accounting function
  • Coordinate and complete the US quarterly and year-end audit; collaborate with and support the UK team with the global audit
  • Support 10K preparation  - footnote and memo preparation as needed
  • Manage AR accounting, banking and reconciliation
  • Review monthly and quarterly revenue reports and analysis
  • Manage GL accounting and banking
  • Maintain required accounting documentation in support of relevant legal, regulatory, and audit requirements
  • Calculate and file sales & use tax returns.  Work with the outside tax advisors to complete US federal and state tax returns
  • Regular attendance and timeliness is essential


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 7 - 10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferably in the medical devices, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries.   CPA preferred
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills; expert Excel skills
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Strong communication skills – regular interaction with CFO and operational executives
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines (fast-paced environment) with extraordinary attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work with multiple remote locations and work cross culturally
  • Prior experience with a publicly-traded company a plus
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Solid work ethic, ability to manage change, and a “can do” attitude a must
