Searching for a CAD Drafter in Dacula, GA 8AM-4:30PM. This person will create, catalog, and maintain shop drawings, programs, and specifications for items produced by our client or our client's approved vendors. This is a contract to permanent position.

Responsibilities of the CAD Drafter:
  • Responsible for the engineering phase of the order process which includes verification of items ordered against building plans and creating installation plans.  
  • Responsible for coordinating with Project Managers to obtain design approval of shop prepared drawings and field measurements needed during the engineering process.
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Prepare item drawings for approval and fabrication
  • Prepare program files for cutting parts on computer controlled equipment
  • Maintain the catalog of program files for easy retrieval of the appropriate revision as needed
  • Participate in the design/ approval process on all custom items
  • Create installation plans for use by contractors and installers
Requirements of the CAD Drafter:
  • Must be well versed with computer drafting and 3D modeling programs (AutoCAD, Microstation, etc.)
  • Competent with common office solution software.  
  • Some familiarity with the needs of a manufacturing environment is desired, especially in the wood products industry.  
  • Must have have a high school diploma or equivalent and typically hold an Associate’s Degree or more in computer aided design or related field.
  • Familiarity with Microvellum is preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, designers, and co-workers
