Waters Corporation is seeking a motivated, independent, and strong technical contributor for the Chemical Engineering Co-Op position within the Instrument Development Group. This group, working closely with the Marketing Department, is responsible for the development of Modular Instruments and Integrated Systems for the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Environmental, and Industrial marketplaces. These products are used routinely for the discovery and development of new medicines, biotech research, hazardous material identification, food and beverage production, and chemical manufacturing. The products are based on High Performance Liquid Chromatography requiring real-time control of the various complex electro-mechanical components necessary to perform this separation technique. This group has indirect collaboration with the quality, new product introduction, service, marketing and commercialization teams.


  1. System / Instrument / Component Level Performance / Design Verification Testing which includes: Test Setup, Data Acquisition, Analysis of Results, Result Interpretation and Verbal and Written Reporting.
  2. Assist with instrument concept development by assisting with development of and working with breadboard models.
  3. Work with a variety of engineering software programs including: LabView, Matlab, Python, Mathcad and C++.
  4. Utilize Laboratory Tools such as Mass Spectrometry, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Raman Spectrophotomer, ICP-MS, Keyence Microscopes, Material Testing Equipment, Thermal Chambers, and Pressure/Temperature Measuring Devices for Product Design and Failure Analysis


Currently seeking a technical degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
