Electrical Engineer 

We have a long term contract opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with an engineering. The Electrical Engineer provides design efforts from inception through production in both new and existing designs and projects.  The ideal candidate will perform engineering design activities and calculations for projects.  Must have high regard for detail, quality, and productivity.  Must be able to lead and direct other electrical engineers and work as part of a multidiscipline design team.  They will work with lead engineers and design staff to solve engineering challenges associated with facility layout, material specification, electrical protection, electrical and controls design of the projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints
  • Review policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • Review reports of production, malfunction and maintenance
  • Provide technical design and troubleshooting support
  • Is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Prioritize and accomplish project goals
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of each job
  • Use computer assisted design/drafting software to develop designs
  • Prepare preliminary design proposal(s), engineering design, and supporting documentation
  • Participate in engineering and general design reviews as required
  • Refine and complete designs after design review meetings
  • Interact and coordinate with drafters to develop and complete designs
  • Interact with clients and vendors
  • Take initiative to identify and correct potential design flaws and identify potential risks or engineering design impacts for the project
  • Participate and lead bid walk-down meetings
  • Provide on-site construction and commissioning support
  • Interact with vendors to specify and/or troubleshoot equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience in the engineering field
  • BSEE from an accredited college or university required
  • EIT preferred with plans to obtain a Professional License
  • Must demonstrate leadership and organization ability
  • Must be skilled at written and verbal communications in English
  • Able to utilize AutoCAD, MS Office, & MS Project
