We are seeking a Program/Project manager to join our client in Framginham, Ma on a long term contract.
The PM will lead small teams across a high number of continuing engineering, limited scope development projects, and/or product improvement initiatives. This will be a new position allowing the right candidate the ability to shape the role.
•Determine the appropriate path for the projects, organize and facilitate necessary team meetings, producing minutes, action items and keep the management adequately informed.
•Lead and participate in product support activities including manufacturing and field quality issues, regulatory and supply chain issues.
•Lead efforts to assess issues, determine impact / priority, drive to root cause and lead teams to effective resolutions.
•Key leader in product cost reduction initiatives, identifying, assessing and implementing changes to reduce cost.
•This individual may be required to lead teams to introduce new variants of existing products to the market.
•Regularly update and maintain historical records for the projects, assist in the preparation of documentation and information needed for major meetings with senior management.
•He/she will set project budgets and schedules and will track performance adjusting plans as needed to align with customer needs, resource availability and competing project priorities.
•He/she may interact with Engineering, Joint Development Manufacturer partners (JDM’s), Validation and Verification groups, Product Marketing, suppliers and subcontractors.
Must have the following skills, abilities and knowledge:
•Experience with project scheduling and planning
•Experience with MS Project
•Experience with project cost estimating and program accounting practices
•Exposure to and ability to grasp basic technologies and engineering/manufacturing processes involved in product development
•Team building and team leadership
•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with cross functional technical teams, business organizations, vendors and upper management staff.
•5+ years’ experience within a Product Development role, preferably within consumer electronics.
•2 to 3 years of experience within a Program/Project Manager role.
•BS in Engineering required
•MS in Engineering or MBA is a plus.
