Description

Our client is looking for an Electrical Mechanic to work between 1st and 2nd shift to maintain a food production facility in Swedesboro, NJ. They will conduct preventative electrical maintenance on equipment, ensure the proper stock of parts, notify the Manager when the last of a part is used, and train newer mechanics on equipment and processes/procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF ELECTRICAL MECHANIC:          

  • Conducts a walkthrough of the buildings to note and complete any item needing attention regarding the overall condition of the buildings and equipment
  • Performs electrical maintenance on manufacturing equipment as needed, including but not limited to Multivac, tray sealers, labelers, patty machines, and cutting machines
  • Maintains OSHA/corporate set guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for coworkers
  • Maintains equipment ensuring high quality production efficiency
  • Performs lockout/tagout procedures
  • Conducts all work activities in a safe manner
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOPs and GMP guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned by the Production Maintenance Manager within scope and ability

JOB REQUIREMENTS OF ELECTRICAL MECHANIC:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED; technical school a plus
  • 10-20 years’ experience in electrical experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working on food processing equipment, such as Multivac, tray sealers, labelers, thermoformers, patty machines, extruders
  • Experience with motors, drives, and cutting machines required
  • Experience working on PLCs, controls and automation a plus
  • Mechanical mindset with ability to think outside the box
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, cold temperature environment
  • Experience working on processing machinery in the food service industry a plus
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and parts breakdowns a plus
  • Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by company
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to work overtime, as warranted by business need
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
