Description

Our premiere client in Milford, MA is currently seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join their organization in a contract role on 1st shift.

In this role, the individual will be responsible for the inspection of machined components, in support of their machining operations. The individual shall be responsible for conducting final lot inspections of components, utilizing ANSI Z1.4 sampling methodology and a variety of inspection tools. The ideal candidate shall have the ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision, and shall have a background in mechanical inspection and the interpretation of GD&T requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform final lot inspections of machined components
  • Document results of inspections
  • Generate non-conformance reports for material in violation of specifications
  • Provide feedback on findings to machining operations staff

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanical inspection or QA role
  • Working knowledge of GD&T principles
  • Proficiency in using various standard measuring devices, including micrometers, calipers, height, plug, bore, thread, and ring gages
  • Experience communicating across various functions, including quality engineering, process engineering, machine operators, and inspectors
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • General understanding of ISO quality management systems
  • Use of statistical sampling plans

Desired Qualifications:

  • College degree, preferably in a STEM discipline
  • Experience operating automated metrology equipment, such as CMM's, vision systems, and profilometers
  • Experience using Sparta Trackwise and SAP
  • Knowledge of statistical tools such as SPC and gage R&R
  • Experience programming in Zeiss Calypso

Education:

  • High school diploma required
