Job Description:

The Production Operations Manager is responsible for management of a manufacturing team whose primary focus is on the execution of manufacturing processes to meet the production schedule in support of organizational objectives. Responsible for a manufacturing team consisting of 25+ direct labor personnel maintaining a culture of compliance while continually training, coaching/mentoring to promote cohesive team work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plans and manages production activities for the most efficient utilization of personnel and equipment, to assure smooth workflow and meet assigned production schedules.
  • Plans production runs and work assignments to meet production schedules.
  • Makes revisions as required based on needs to respond to short term quality and delivery issues and maximize utilization of all available resources
  • Coordinates cross training of employees to maximize labor resource optimization to ensure proper staffing for all operations and minimize unplanned downtime due to resource availability 
  • Provides effective coaching and timely feedback for continuous performance improvement and team culture
  • Coordinates replenishment of MRO supplies of Consumables Manufacturing that maintains production schedule and minimizes risk of unplanned downtime.
  • Performs personnel assessment, hiring, training and managing the production workforce including disciplinary functions.
  • Oversee equipment is calibrated and in working order.
  • Performs and enforces aseptic techniques following the SOPs for cassette manufacturing 
  • Produce production reports that track daily/weekly/monthly output.
  • Assist as necessary to complete consumable manufacturing projects in a timely manner ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed.
  • Performs assessment that all work is compliant with cGMP, ISO, QMS and other pertinent regulations 
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, business or science curriculum that is relevant to manufacturing operations
  • A minimum of 3 years’ managerial experience in a fast-paced dynamic manufacturing environment. 
  • Working knowledge of cGMP and ISO guidelines. Familiarity with FDA regulations a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple production lines/teams 
  • Must be able to communicate in English with others related to daily operations.
  • Understanding and willingness to implement 5S and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience with aseptic process/laboratory skills is a plus 
Working Conditions:
  • Appropriate gowning procedures will be required (hairnet, safety glasses, clean room apparel/lab coats, latex gloves)
  • Occasional environmental odors may be prevalent
  • May be required to work extended hours and weekends
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Contract until December 2017
Will train on 1st shift then move to 2nd shift
Drug and background screening required
