Benefits Coordinator
Remote
3-6 month contract


Our client is looking for a Benefits Coordinator with a passion for helping others, providing a high level of customer service, attention to detail and continuous drive to learn.  In this role you will focus on maintaining a positive relationship with the business, vendors, other HR team members and the employees. To succeed in this role, we want someone that strives toward best in class results specific to employee experience & satisfaction, operational efficiency, vendor management and ongoing service level performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer benefit programs for employees which may include health, prescription, dental, wellness, disability, life, retirement plans and other voluntary offerings
  • Work with outsourced administrators and internal departments to maximize plan performance and the employee experience, as well as continually improve processes
  • Administer the Leaves of Absence and Worker's Compensation programs: with a strong working knowledge of various leave laws (e.g. FMLA, CFRA, PDL and ADA) and workers' compensation laws; and strong leave management skills
  • Assist employees with escalated questions regarding benefit issues
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for benefit processes
  • Stay current with proposed legislation and look for applicability within existing programs
  • Ensures necessary plan documents are in place and government-mandated disclosures, e.g. summary documents, are timely and correctly distributed to eligible employees.
  • Project participation and perform related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of employee benefit experience, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Current knowledge of employment laws as they pertain to:  IRS Code Section 125 regulations, ERISA, FMLA & state specific leave laws/acts, HIPAA, FLSA, ADA, workers’ compensation, OSHA, EEOC and COBRA
  • Proficiency in Windows based applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience utilizing benefit administration software preferred
