Overview
Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Contract Technical Writer to join our organization. In this role, the individual will research, plan, and produce technical user and field service documentation in various electronic formats for worldwide consumption. Works with minimal supervision as a contributing member of the international technical communications team consisting of multi-disciplinary team members responsible for all stages of content development in support of laboratory instrumentation and related software.

Works with minimal supervision as a contributing member of the international technical communications team consisting of multi-disciplinary team members responsible for all stages of content development in support of laboratory instrumentation and related software.
Responsibilities
- Produce technically accurate, concise, and well-written user documentation while adhering to a structured style guide.
- Work concurrently on several deliverables.
- Consistently meet deadlines. Alert supervisor if a situation or deadline changes.
- Collaborate as a member of cross-functional project teams, specifically working with software/hardware development teams, evaluation/test, training and customer support
- Share information willingly with others.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with all Waters employees.
- Learn new applications and methods.
- Observe and participate in usability studies.
- Bachelor’s degree in a writing, science, engineering, or software related discipline is preferred.
- Previous experience with technical writing highly preferred.
- Experience with some publishing technologies (FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, X-Metal, SDL Livecontent, HTML, Adobe, XML).
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.
- Experience applying CX/UX principles to content development project work is a plus.
