HR Generalist Responsibilities:
  • Supports the recruitment process for assigned site(s) by posting job openings on external career sites and internally, sourcing and screening applicants and updating applicant tracking systems. Works with receptionist to coordinate on site interviews for a positive candidate experience. May schedule interviews. 
  • Tracks and analyzes site HR metrics, presents observations, evaluates trends and makes  recommendations. May participate in projects related to improvements. 
  • Schedules and conducts new hire orientation and may process on-boarding steps.
  • Sets up and maintains new hire files, medical files, background / EEO and training files. 
  • Organizes and carries out general administrative tasks as needed such as filing, tracking of performance evaluations, training forms, distribution of announcements, gathers and sends required documents in response to claims for unemployment, requests for files, internal audit requests, etc. 
  • Supports Associates and management in the areas of benefits, wellness, disability, workers compensation and leaves of absence. 
  • Provides basic employee relation support such as policy interpretation, direction on HR processes and reference material. Assists in remediation and maintains a high level of confidentiality. 
  • Promotes an issue-free environment through awareness and sensitivity to Associates, positive programs, consistent application of policies, procedures, management standards and training. 
  • Primary contact at site for payroll related matters for Associates and Managers, escalating issues when needed. 

HR Generalist Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in HR or related field
  • 2-5 years work experience in a Human Resources role 
  • Specialized Knowledge:
  • Basic knowledge of State and Federal Labor Laws (i.e. EEO, FMLA, Wage & Hour) required. Basic interviewing and training/presentation skills needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, multi-task and re-balance changing priorities in a dynamic work environment is critical. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, decision making and conflict management skills desired. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint desired. Knowledge of web and video conferencing helpful.
