Our client in Milford, MA is looking to hire a Scientist. This is a long-term possibility T-H position.
The Scientific Operations team provides globally-recognized scientific leadership in the area of specialty measurement in the life, food, and materials sciences. We use that understanding to direct the development of innovative products and solutions to be workflow based, enabling our customers to solve critical analytical challenges and advance scientific understanding.
A new temporary Scientist position is immediately available within the Food and Environment team. You will use your expertise to help us solve quantitation challenges pertinent to food and environmental markets, e.g. trace level residue and contaminant analysis using LC-MS/MS. This dynamic role is primarily laboratory based but will include communication of the results both internally and externally.
Generation of performance data using liquid chromatography-tandem quadrupole and time-of-flight mass spectrometry platforms for the development of marketing collateral and test cases to support hardware and software development and evaluation.
Work collaboratively in a highly matrixed organisation with other professionals throughout the organisation to ensure transfer of best practices and overall science development.
Develop a good understanding of trace level residue and contaminant quantitation workflows, while maintaining an awareness of competitor activities to support food and environmental business objectives.
Provide effective communication of food and environmental technical information to scientists, marketing and sales people where necessary.
A degree in a science subject with a higher degree preferred, in addition to sufficient work experience and knowledge gained in an appropriate environment to make a significant contribution within a world-class science organisation.
Proven practical experience of developing separations and/or mass spectrometry methods for food and environmental applications using Waters or other related technologies.
Proven practical experience in general analytical laboratory procedures, including sample preparation and sample extraction.
Must be a self-starter and have excellent oral and written communication skills and evidence of building good working relationships.
