Description

The Contract Senior Technical Writer, Medical Devices researches, plans, schedules, and produces technical documentation in various electronic formats for a global audience. This individual works with minimal supervision as a contributing member of the Customer Experience and Knowledge Management department, which is a multi-disciplinary team that develops content to support company laboratory instrumentation and related software.

The position has strong working relationships within Customer Experience and Knowledge Management team (CXKM), Global Products, Regulatory Affairs and key teams across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently research and write technical content for a global audience.
  • Update legacy content for compliance with In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR) requirements.
  • Optimize legacy content for consistency, reusability, and localization.
  • Follow content development, editorial, localization, and regulatory processes.
  • Collaborate as a member of cross-functional project teams by attending meetings, interacting with subject matter experts, and establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all company employees.
  • Work effectively with remote teams in the UK and Romania.
  • Work effectively with virtual machines (remote software access) and systems.
  • Adapt to new authoring tools and processes.
  • Participate in and coordinate multi-writer projects.
  • Identify and escalate potential project risks.
  • Represent the Customer Experience and Knowledge Management department at project meetings.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated usability knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience authoring content for localization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in structured authoring practices.
  • Demonstrated experience authoring for content reuse.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience authoring technical content.
  • Flexible to occasionally work earlier hours to join meetings with UK 

Qualifications strongly preferred:

  • Content Management System experience.
  • Experience authoring for multi-channel delivery (print, web, mobile).
  • Experience migrating legacy content to a Content Management System.
  • Adobe Technical Communication Suite experience.
  • MadCap Flare experience.
  • XML authoring experience.
