The planner is responsible for supporting the Operations team with regard to shipments, scheduling and inventory.

Material Planner

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Systematically plan materials to meet sales and production demands
  • Maintain and control inventory, adjusting according to forecasting procedures
  • Communicate with manufacturing facility in China regarding shipment schedules and lead times
  • Manage the import, shipping and customs processes for inbound shipments
  • Manage outbound shipments to meet delivery schedule
  • Develop visibility and varied reporting in MRP system and Microsoft Excel
  • Compile and/or distribute production schedules, inventory reports, status reports, and customer information
  • Organize and maintain document files accurately
  • Attend weekly Operations meetings
  • Analyze and improve operations procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Statistics, Accounting, or Math-Related Area
  • 3-5 years working with Resource Planning Systems (ERP/MRP) as a material planner.
  • SAP Business One experience is a plus
  • Previous experience working with Chinese vendors preferred
  • Bilingual, Fluent Mandarin is a plus
  • Strong mathematical skills required
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills with a focus on organization
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Windows OS
  • Great interpersonal skills; displays honesty, ethics and integrity at all times
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills including a positive attitude
  • Must have prompt and regular attendance, a sense of urgency, self-motivation and discipline
  • Minimum of 40 hours per week
