Description

Strategic Innovation Manager

Responsibilities

  • Work with owner regularly to articulate strategic objectives, plans, and tactics for sustainable growth
  • Identify prospects for new business, opportunities to deepen business with existing clients, and identify and re-engage lapsed customers
  • Analyze and interpret internal & external data as needed to inform decisions about profit margins, to measure true cost, and minimize expenses
  • Anticipate opportunities/threats in our customer base, industry, and the greater economy; communicating these clearly and promptly to the staff and working with the owner to develop an organizational response
  • Coordinate with owner and finance manager to evaluate systems for tracking and sorting data (i.e. expenditures samples, dinners, gifts, time spent, etc.) to gauge variables like true profitability of accounts
  • Research new software solutions that add efficiency for the company and its clients (i.e. Yammer, Bright Stores, OfficeVibe)

Requirements

  • Read industry magazines, attend trade shows, review new products, stay abreast of legislative/policy developments pertinent to the promotional industry
  • Cultivate personal/professional growth by attending conferences, consuming industry publications, and through continuing education
  • Evaluate operations in relation to our strategic revenue/growth goals and suggest tools, training, and other resources to proactively identify and solve problems, address existing inefficiencies, and keep company on track to growth
  • Research new software solutions that add efficiency for the company and its clients (i.e. Yammer, Bright Stores, OfficeVibe)
  • Work with owner to develop a regular coaching schedule, provide training, and regularly evaluate culture
  • High sense of urgency and leadership abilities
