Description

Director of Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Establish priorities and distribute work to the Engineering staff and outside resources based on priority, work load and individual skills.
  • Develop a strong succession plan by growing and developing the engineering team.
  • Manage engineering tools and forecast future requirements.
  • Improve and document engineering processes via ISO standards.
  • Build skills within the organization that allow us to partner effectively through alliances.
  • Participate on project review and approval boards
  • Partner with operations and quality to de-risk and optimize supply chain.
  • Aggressively lead the development and introduction of innovative new products
  • Understand the markets served by the products/systems developed.
  • Assist sales and marketing in performing technical presentations to OEM's and large distributors.

Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably EE, or ME (other design and management experience may be substituted).
  • 15 years of experience in the design of fluid dynamics or pressure assist technologies.
  • At least 5 years of management experience in a mid to large sized company, directly managing and developing engineering staff.
  • Direct experience creating or modifying engineering development processes. The experience should be related to processes that lead to better engineering within a given discipline.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills. This includes a demonstrated track record of introducing change into an organization.
  • Experience implementing a systems engineering and platform development into a company.
  • Experience with engineering applications such as SDRC Ideas, SAP, Mentor Graphics, PLM, PADS, Caliber RM, Rational Rose.
