Description

Electrical Engineer / Substation Engineer: 
We have an immediate - Direct Hire Opening - for an Electrical Engineer specializing in high voltage substation for power generation. 

This person should understand substation operations, troubleshooting, optimization, maintenance etc... and will at as the SME on the Electrical Engineering side as well as a Technical Manager, tasked with building a team that will maintain reliable substations and related systems for renewable energy projects as well as remotely monitoring multiple project, develop preventative maintenance procedures, and correct system issues. 

Responsibilities
  • Develop and share cross site technical experience in the operation, maintenance and management of renewable energy technologies, particularly wind turbines.
  • Planning of maintenance and troubleshooting in electrical substations and associated collection systems.
  • Continues improvement and standardization of electrical operation systems and reporting to ensure local, state, and Federal compliance.
  • Project Management of small preventive and standardization projects.
  • Good understanding of Electrical Utility, NERC, ERCOT, WEC, ISO compliance.
  • Procure and supervise consultants, contractors, and turbine manufactures as needed.
  • Assist in creating, auditing and optimizing Electrical safety program and practices for Wind and Substation Technicians.
  • Create a high QHSE environment for all the operational assets.
  • Manage Service and Maintenance agreements; draft and follow up on Warranty Claims
  • Manage Balance of Plant (BoP) and Asset Management agreements.
  • Create and manage budgets; prepare and present reports; follow up on projects’ KPIs
Qualifications:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in power generation or substations associated with heavy industry.
  • Strong understanding of H/V electrical substations
  • Understanding of SEL relays and their interaction / communication with data acquisition systems.
