Description

The DAVIS Companies has partnered with a leader in the Automation Industry by securing an Electrical Engineer to join their team. This is an incredible opportunity to join a team focused on innovation and making waves in the industry.

The EE is ultimately responsible for overseeing all phases of panel design and projects from inception to shipment to assure they meet both customer requirements and adhere to UL and company standards.

Responsibilities of Electrical Engineer: 

  • Work with Customer and Sales to fully understand design and provide technical support along with entering customer specifications for control panels into Propierty Systems
  • Review Customer designs and documentation to assure they meet applicable agency requirements
  • Work with various departments to identify any special requirement, tooling, CAD tools, and/or investments that may be required
  • Develop production documentation and drawings using electrical CAD software to support new control panel product design activities
  • Provide production support
  • Work with customer to gather feedback on designs
  • Successful transitioning of stable business from Sales Engineering Team
  • Provide direction and support to others within the group.
  • Developing/Modifying Schematics and Macros in ECAD systems
  • Testing software installations and systems for their production readiness
  • Interpreting and implement design changes provided by the customer
  • Participate in value engineering projects to continually improve designs and processes.
  • Communicate solutions for unique applications including design and special pricing
  • Aid in preparing calculations and cost analysis for changes in the product offerings.
  • Creation of new procedures, processes or relationships.  Often responsible for identifying changes that need to be made in current procedures.
  • Maintain close contact with the shop floor.  Listen to the problems and ideas.  Prioritize and pursue the most important concerns. Assist in resolving issues as they arise.
  • Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization.
  • Mentor others in industrial control panel design
  • Provide technical support to peers
  • Attend technical or trade show meetings, read related publications and continue to achieve engineering excellence
  • Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
  • Provide technical support and oversight for projects requiring development with our proprietary automated software
  • Potentially architecting software, PLC programming for customer applications, and creating automated test fixtures
  • Potentially oversee/lead small group of Level 1 Engineers, Drafters, or Engineering Technicians

Skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field required
  • 3-5 year industry experience.
  • UL 508A Control Panel Certificate of Completion
  • Knowledge of UL 698a
  • Electrical and Solid Modeling CAD experience (EPlan P8 or Promse-E preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands on manufacturing or repair experience is preferred
