The DAVIS Companies is helping one of the leading designers and manufacturers of high quality custom control panels for high-volume OEMs, by securing a hard working and motivated individual to join their team as an Electrical Engineer.

The Electrical Engineer (EE) assists as a technical resource for controls panel design.  The EE is responsible for overseeing all phases of panel design and projects from inception to shipment to assure they meet both customer requirements and adhere to UL and company standards.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Work with fellow Engineers to fully understand design and provide technical support along with entering customer specifications for control panels into APE Systems
  • Work with various departments to identify any special requirement, tooling, CAD tools, and/or investments that may be required
  • Develop production documentation and drawings using electrical CAD software to support new control panel product design activities
  • Provide production support
  • Work with customer to gather feedback on designs
  • Successful transitioning of stable business from Sales Engineering Team
  • Provide support to others within the group.
  • Developing/Modifying Schematics and Macros in ECAD systems
  • Interpreting and implement design changes provided by the customer
  • Participate in value engineering projects to continually improve designs and processes.
  • Communicate solutions for unique applications including design and special pricing
  • Aid in preparing calculations and cost analysis for changes in the product offerings.
  • Creation of new procedures, processes or relationships with oversight from Level 2 Engineer or higher.
  • Maintain close contact with the shop floor.  Listen to the problems and ideas. Assist in resolving issues as they arise.
  • Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization.

Other responsibilities:

  • Attend technical or trade show meetings, read related publications and continue to achieve engineering excellence
  • Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
  • Provide technical support for projects requiring development with our proprietary automated software
  • Potentially architecting software, PLC programming for customer applications, and creating automated test fixtures

Skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field required
  • Electrical and Solid Modeling CAD experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands on manufacturing or repair experience is preferred
