Job description:

We are looking for a self-motivated, hands-on individual to help us develop core technology by contributing to our engineering team. In this role, the candidate will be working in a small development group and must be flexible enough to help develop electrical and mechanical designs. This includes but is not limited to, creating basic part & assembly drawings, creating test procedures and work instructions, building test fixtures, performing subassembly and system level development testing, and assisting the software group with product functionality testing.

 

What you will do:

  • Support the engineering team with a focus on testing electrical and mechanical systems in all phases of development
  • Generate and maintain mechanical parts, assemblies, and drawings
  • Maintain electrical schematics and create cable drawings
  • Design and build electronic test fixtures and create the associated test procedures
  • Perform thermal testing of electronic components and enclosures
  • Perform product-level environmental testing
  • Document formal test results and generate reports
  • Assist in the transition of products from prototype development to manufacturing release

 

Preferred skills:

  • Strong documentation/organizational skills
  • Experience using 3D solid modeling (Solidworks preferred)
  • Ability to perform computer-based simulations (FEA/CFD) would be a plus
  • Schematic capture tool experience (OrCAD preferred)
  • Knowledge of electronic lab test and measurement equipment
  • Working knowledge of machine tools (mill/lathe/etc) would be a plus
  • Component level debugging on PCBs

Education requirements:

  • BS in electromechanical engineering or dual-major BS in electrical and mechanical engineering

 

Experience requirements:

  • 0-3 years experience working in an engineering role
  • Will consider a recent college grad with relevant COOP/internship experience

 

Security Clearance Required/Level

  • None, but the ability to obtain a clearance is desired
