Description

Principal Test Engineer 

Responsibilities

  1. Be recognized as the go-to person for test expertise.
  2. Improve manufacturing test efficiencies by analyzing, planning and modifying test processes.
  3. Identify and recommend test processes, procedures, and equipment.
  4. Support production, test, and debug activities with fault trees and other tools.
  5. Calculate Return on Investment (ROI) and recommend test equipment purchases.
  6. Interfaces and contribute to coordinating efforts with other engineering departments and vendors to assure efficient, cost-effective test development.
  7. Develop, evaluate and specify tools, fixtures, equipment and jigs for the manufacture of systems, assemblies, components, etc. assuring optimum operations for production areas.
  8. Recommend and initiate modifications to optimize production conditions.
  9. Build cooperative working relationships with Design, Quality, Configuration Management, Supply Operational Excellence as well as other internal and external organizations.
  10. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ year’s related experience.
  • Proficient in the above competencies and or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Lean Principles.
  • Innovative & creative
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, documentation, and processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, written & oral communication skills
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs
  • History of progressive responsibility a plus
  • Experience with CAD or ECAD programs a plus
