Description

Process Engineer 

Charlotte, SC area

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, develops, and manages process improvement projects specifically aimed at improving operational efficiencies (safety, quality, productivity, waste and costs)
  • Optimization of controls, hydraulic systems, presses, conveyors, hoppers, mixers, ovens, dispensers, grinders, and related systems
  • Responsible for further innovation in the weighing of mold charges, distribution of materials in the mold cavities, curing of thermo-set materials in the mold, curing of semi-cured composites outside of molding, and careful control of product dimensional results as the product goes through a multi-step process
  • Reducing bottle necks and inefficiencies related to mold changeovers and setup changes between different production runs
  • Installation of new equipment as we expand and renovate our processes
  • Relocation of new or existing equipment for improved process flow through the plant

Requirements

  • ME degree with 2-10 years of process engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience conducting time studies including labor utilization, work flow and layout, process improvement and standardization
  • Assists plant management in planning and preparing capital expenditure proposals and budgets
  • Utilizing Lean 6 Sigma methodologies and tools to lead continuous improvement
  • Mechanical aptitude and willing to get hands-on with equipment and process
