Description

The DAVIS Companies is looking for a Process Quality Engineer who will be responsible for implementing Lean/Six Sigma methodology and be responsible for supporting ISO transition and maintaining the new ISO quality management system.  This candidate will be the site change agent for process and product quality improvements to drive culture change using best practices and have the ability to influence behaviors across entire organization. The candidate will also champion programs on improving business process KPIs, GMPs, build process and yield improvement.

Requirements:

  • Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization with specific responsibility over process optimization and process control that improves quality, output, yields, cost.  Review quality management system documentation (procedures and forms) for effectiveness, maintain best practices and train personnel as required on any new or modified procedures.
  • Drive culture change, accountability and continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization through Lean Six Sigma strategies.
  • Analyze company-wide process flows; solve short and long term process issues through problem solving leadership using 8D, DMAIC, and Kaizen events.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to implement GMPs, and champion programs to address build process and yield improvement.
  • Oversee production KPIs (FPY, Control charting), process capability studies, process mapping, FMEAs, Control Plan, 5S, poka-yoke exercises and provide recommendations for continuous improvement to the production team.cy and uptime.
  • Establish, monitor and analyze KPIs on company wide processes by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports and providing data and recommendations to Operations and Quality Leadership.
  • Support ISO transition efforts and ensure quality system compliance with all ISO 9001:2015 requirements, including continuous improvement projects through PDCA approach.
  • Establish process, procedures and related documentation within the framework of ISO 9001:2015 and oversee, as necessary, to ensure compliance with all internal and external (ISO, Customer, etc.) quality requirements.
  • Review quality management system documentation (procedures and forms) for effectiveness, maintain best practices and train personnel as required on any new or modified procedures.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or 3 years of experience with a Master’s Degree.
  • Experience with ISO quality management system (preferably ISO 9001:2015) is a must.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies with Certified Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • Experienced and competent in the methods and application of tools such as DMAIC, FMEAs, Control Plan, PDCA, 5S, Poka-yoke, Pareto and 8D.
  • Experience in statistical applications tools such as Minitab, Excel, or related SPC tools/software preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented, creative and perceptive with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and cross-functional team environment.
