Quality Engineer

Position summary:

The Quality Engineering Technician assists Quality Engineers in providing quality assurance support for manufacturing, improving quality related practices and procedures, problem solving, and providing technical guidance and measurement methodologies.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in the preparation and resolution of internal and external audits in compliance with ISO 12485:2016 and 21CRFpart820.
  • Conducts internal audits and provides guidance in interpreting procedures and work instructions.
  • Prepares CAPA, non-conformances and complaint reports in a regular basis to ensure timely completion of activities.
  • Facilitates Good Documentation Practices Training and other Quality Systems training as assigned.
  • Updates procedures according to companies’ policies.
  • Assist the investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities to support the CAPA and Customer Complaint systems
  • Occasionally assists with routine inspection activities
  • Reads and complies with work instructions, set up sheets, and checklists
  • Maintains an organized work area (5S) to include workstations, equipment, walkways, and locker rooms
  • Participates in the Operational Excellence Program
  • Understands and complies with the Cretex professional competencies, company policies, and employee manual
  • Adheres to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required
  • Supports and complies with the company’s Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
  • Completes all other work duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience (incl. KSA’s and certifications):

  • Very good attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, regulatory requirements and industry standards ISO 13485:2016 and 21CFR820
  • Experience with CAPAs
  • Very good experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Desirable Blueprint reading and GD&T expertise
  • Excellent communications
  • Work independently and proactively
  • Problem analysis/solving
  • 5 years’ experience in machining and or manufacturing
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, around machinery that may be exposed to and around oils & solvents.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, follow and document work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training documents
  • Dexterity and hand and eye coordination
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to take direction from the area manager
  • Ability to collaborate and assist team members, provide input to the area lead, and attend and participate in meetings
  • Ability to cross train in other areas of production when required
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Internal Auditor Experience
