Systems Engineer 

 

The Systems Engineer is a contributor to the development of new systems products for delivery of therapy. The Systems Engineer will specify and develop solutions in sensing, heat and sound management, and enclosure design. The Systems Engineer will work in on a high-talent team with Marketing, Quality, Regulatory and Production resources and support new product development from concept to transfer into the full production. Activities include: development of solutions through bench-level experimentation, creation of product and component-level specifications, development of verification methodologies and management of verification activities, management of external sub-system development and compliance-test resources. The Systems Engineer will organize technical design reviews and maintain the project Design History File in accordance with the Product Realization Process.  

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  

  • Develop design solutions for instrument design including air and fluid movement and heat and power management
  • Develop system and component-level specifications
  • Manage the fabrication and evaluation of device prototypes
  • Develop verification strategies and manage verification activities
  • Primary liaison with compliance test labs
  • Support the transition of devices from development to the production environment
  • Maintain the project Design History File 

Position Requirements:

  

  • Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or BME
  • Minimum 3 years of experience; strong internship experience will be considered 
  • Creative problem solver, able to apply analytical and intuitive skills
  • Comfortable working through problems on the bench
  • Have experience with design and development of electromechanical systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Medical device design experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601-1 is a plus
  • Experience with Altium designer or PADS PCB is a plus
