Flex/Swing Shift 




Maintenance Utility Mechanics perform skilled work in the operation, predictive and preventative maintenance, and repair of the facility’s real property and plant utility systems.



The frequency of the following activities may vary according to the requirements of the job task assigned.  Boiler seal certification a must.  Able to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain a multi-pressure ammonia refrigeration system. Possess a basic understanding of PSM safety requirements.   Must possess the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair simple to complex mechanical and electrical equipment in a timely manner. Able to work effectively under time pressures.  Able to diagnose and clear a fault.   Able to read and interpret electrical diagrams and ladder logic.  Able to effectively use a multi-meter, clamp-on meter, and ability to learn use of a megger.  Able to operate, and maintain the plant Freon HVAC systems.  Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.  Able to perform electrical and mechanical preventative and predictive maintenance as tasked.  Able to complete daily log sheets, communicate effectively, and be proactive in recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions and other mechanical concerns.  Be proactive in the daily plant operations to ensure maximum plant efficiencies and product quality and capacity.  Assists in maintaining a relevant and accurate mechanical inventory.  Reliable and willing to work a flexible schedule, in a subzero environment.

Able to work with the Ross CMMS program to locate inventory, create a part requisition, open a work order, and add equipment repair notes.   Must be capable of working at heights up to 35 feet.  Strong mechanical aptitude to repair and maintain Powered Industrial Equipment.  Must possess a basic understanding of electrical troubleshooting.  Basic welding knowledge, or the ability to learn.


Must have at least one year working in a manufacturing environment; or a one-year certificate from college or technical school.
