Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Materials Manager. The Materials Manager is responsible for many tasks targeted towards the successful Supply Chain activities associated with planning, purchasing and accounting of materials used in the manufacturing process. The candidate must be experienced and capable of coordinating work tasks to meet specific goals. This includes working with vendors, suppliers and co-workers to solve problems, ensure quality and best price practices. The candidate must be self-motivated and enjoy a fast paced, leading edge, team oriented work environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage inventory & stocking activities
  • Manage purchasing
  • Oversee receiving and incoming inspection
  • Support R&D activities including new vendor qualification
  • Negotiate volume blanket POs with vendors
  • Manage key vendor relationships (CMs, sheet metal, machine shops, electronics, specialty parts)
  • Help minimize costs and maximize profitability

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient in MS office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Attention to detail, positive attitude
  • Ability to work with vendors and develop relationships
  • Knowledge of software tools including MRP systems
  • Familiarity with Omnify and QuickBooks is a plus

General Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in related field
  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Willing to learn and explore new ideas and drive improvements
  • Self-motivated and good team player.
