Customer Support Specialist

Our client in the Alpharetta area is hiring directly for a Senior Customer Support Specialist.  


Serve as day-to-day floor leadership for customer support team to ensure effective support of customers, RSMs (Regional Sales Managers), material & operations with day-to-day, order management, technical support, and forecasting where needed.  Serve as back-up to others in department.


  • Mentoring, train and support customer support team.
  • Facilitate positive relationships by providing oversight and guidance to customer support staff in the day-to-day of assessing of customer requests, setting customer expectations and developing standard service levels and responses.
  • Assist management with SAP testing and change implementation.
  • Assist management with all routine departmental reporting.
  • Key interface with customers, distributors and agents for Level 1 technical questions, quotations, order entry, general pricing, catalog selection, order expedite, problem solving, stock rotation and issue resolution.
  • Responsible for receiving all incoming business inquiries via telephone, email and fax systems performing the necessary actions for the generation of accurate and complete customer quotations and entry of customer purchase orders into the company ERP/SAP system.
  • Communicates quotations, purchase orders and other data to Regional Sales Manager(s) and follows through on other requests for information.
  • Provides assistance to customers with delivery information, status inquiries, additions and/or modifications regarding current purchase orders.
  • Re-schedules orders based upon customer directives or for other valid approved reasons and follows up on open orders as needed.
  • Resolves issues with customer purchase orders either directly or through appropriate management support.
  • Makes proactive calls to customers to ensure proper support levels.
  • Analyzes customer’s needs in order to provide customer forecast to Materials Management.
  • Processes Return Materials Authorizations (RMAs) as needed.
  • Works closely with Regional Sales Managers to provide ongoing support related to customer needs.
  • Interfaces with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Materials Management, and Finance when required.
  • Interfaces with Purchasing, Engineering & Materials Management when required to confirm whether customer specifications and/or deliveries can be achieved.
  • Provides customers with basic product information to resolve customer concerns and assist customers in making proper product selections with input from Regional Sales Managers as necessary.
  • Provides basic technical support for customer/prospect inquiries and escalating technical support assistance as required.
  • Performs and achieves objectives set by management.
  • Any additional duties as assigned, determined, or reconfigured by Fischer management.


  • College degree preferred
  • 6+ years SAP experience preferred
  • 5+ years professional experience in a fast-paced and highly motivated customer service role is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn and an unfailing “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to function under high pressure
  • Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented with organizational proficiency required
  • Data entry with high accuracy
  • Effective interactions with personnel at all organizational levels
  • Technical Sales experience desired
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Direct sales/service experience desired
  • Bilingual helpful, but not required
  • Electrical/electronic experience or equivalent technical experience preferred


  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in business or engineering, plus 3 to 5 years of inside sales experience in a technical environment.  Or high school diploma with 6 – 10 years of inside sales experience in a technical environment.
  • 4+ years of SAP experience is required
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a fast paced and highly interactive distribution sales environment is required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must be detail oriented and extremely organized
  • Must be able to learn and adapt to a fast-paced changing environment
  • Candidates must have customer service experience, ERP experience, and experience working with a technical product.


Full time Direct Hire Opportunity

Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Salary Range: $55-65K/YEARLY
