SUMMARY

Set up Operator is responsible for meeting customer on time delivery and quality expectations through efficient and safe machine set-up, operation and production recording.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Setup and operate required machines
  • Can troubleshoot and fix minor mechanical issues 
  • Able to maintain good quality and high production rates with little assistance
  • Maintain compliance with GMP Standards
  • Follows organizational and departmental practices and procedures to ensure safe operations of equipment and personal safety.
  • Conduct machine set ups based on the prescribed method, production schedule and production start time.
  • Ensures customer quantities are accurate.
  • Utilizes RF scanners to record completed production.
  • Follow SOP’s
  • Maintain documentation according to GMP standards.
  • Record all machine and quality issues in the IQ log.
  • Follows standard Troubleshooting Guides to identify core problems which are causing the machine to produce defective ware or fail to meet production standards.
  • Must strive for continuous improvement
  • Must follow company containment procedures for Non-Conforming ware.
  • Responsible for training new hires and assisting others within the department.
  • Any other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Offset printing experience is a plus
  • Familiar with horizontal flow wrapping equipment
  • Familiar with bowl feeders, conveyors and assembly equipment
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills is a must
  • Self-starter
  • Fast learner 
  • Motivated and willing to  move forward quickly
  • Ability to lead your shift when necessary 
  • Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly.
  • Must be able to take direction and work well with others.
  • Must be able to work under the stress of deadlines.
  • Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately.
  • Must be able to react to change productively and to handle other task as assigned.
  • Complete any other functions assigned by management.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Proficient in reading and writing in English.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals and blue prints. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to use measuring devices such as

  • Calipers
  • Dial indicator
  • Feeler gauges

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems in a professional manor.
