Our client located in Boston, MA is looking for a Materials Coordinator to join their team on a direct hire basis.

Responsibilities of the Material Coordinator: 
  • Count, sort, and inspect all inbound freight to ensure that freight delivered corresponds in type to that specified on the delivery receipt and purchase order
  • Label all inbound freight clearly with item numbers, hazards tags, etc., as required
  • Perform all necessary procedures and record required information in ERP system. i.e. related transactions supporting receiving, returned goods, rejected material, etc.
  • Transfer material to Quality Inspection as required
  • Organize and maintain stock room, including setting up and labeling storage bins
  • Complete Cycle Counts and associated transactions
  • Support other material control activities and inventories
  • Ensure coordination of materials with production schedule to meet deadlines
  • Kit materials for assembly per printed kit lists as directed
  • Package materials for shipment in manner to protect from damage
  • Prepare documentation for shipping packages and containers for domestic or international destinations
  • Communicate with customs broker to clear shipments from customs
  • Maintain data logs for shipments as required
  • Completing transactions as required for cycle counts or when transferring stock
  • Follow Receiving, Shipping, and Material Handling, Distribution and Storage procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Communicate discrepancies regarding received material or documentation
  • Communicate required information to affected departments and management
  • Provide ideas for department and/or company improvements
  • Adhere to safety rules, company policies and procedures, QSR and ISO regulations
Requirements of the Material Coordinator:
  • Knowledge of PC operation/navigation, including Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
  • Experience in Shipping and Receiving, FedEx, UPS and transportation providers
  • Understanding of shipping/receiving logistics, stock room, and inventory control
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Requires standing and walking 50% of the time
  • Good organizational skills
