Field Engineering Manager    

Description:
Our rapidly growing client in Raleigh North Carolina is looking for a Field Engineering Manager for a direct hire opportunity. This candidate will be reviewing and sealing project drawings as well as making modification to any drawings or files. The ideal candidate will have experience working with residential projects and have exposure to wood design. This is a Direct Hire opportunity paying 72,000-85,000 with a sign on bonus as well as relocation assistance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee standard engineering documents, processes and policies.
  • Review and approve field-engineering projects in the North Carolina region.
  • Perform regular audits and quality control, and help ensure that work is performed in accordance with JDS guidelines and procedures.
  • Interpret data, prepare reports, and communicate findings to clients and regulatory officials as needed.
  • Provide escalation support for daily field-engineering issues.
  • Train new employees and contribute to current staff members’ continuing education.
  • Assist the Director of Engineering Services with staff reviews.
  • Work with the Director of Engineering Services to ensure overall customer satisfaction in each market.
  • Work with the Director of Plans and Drafting as needed on projects that bridge across departments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer license in NC, SC, or VA
  • 5 years experience with Wood structures
  • Proficiency with Enercalc, Strucalc or other structural design software
