  • Fundamental knowledge and general understanding of all engineering disciplines including Civil, Structural, and MEP. Some Architectural design experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with CAD and BIM software including Autodesk™ CAD and BIM software applications for Architecture, Site/Civil, and MEP.
  • Ability to develop plan notes and reference appropriate codes and standards with Engineer support.
  • General understanding of multi-discipline A-E drawing packages consistent with industry standards.
  • Ability to complete fieldwork including documenting existing conditions and supporting engineering investigations.


  • Understanding and familiarity with current building and industry codes (IBC, ASCE, NFPA, ASHRAE, ASTM, ANSI, etc.). Ability to establish and reference applicable codes and standards and interpretation of such specific to the associated design.
  • Experience with Federal/DoD design standards and guides.
  • Strong technical writing skills. Support engineers with the preparation of client documents including reports, studies, and specifications.

Education & Work Experience

  • Two-year degree in an Engineering or Architecture program and 2-years experience, or,
  • Four-years of relevant work experience.
