Description

 

We are looking for a team oriented, career driven Floor Supervisor.  This position includes overseeing a wide variety of production machining operations, as well as leading department efforts in productivity and work quality.

What your responsibilities of the Floor Supervisor will be:

  • Assign tasks/duties to production personnel in their area to maintain the production schedule
  • Recognize and evaluate production delays and facilitate solutions to remove bottlenecks
  • Ensure that production personnel are competent based on applicable education, training, skills and/or experience
  • Train production employees as required
  • Maintain a quality of parts produced at required standards
  • Ensure that adequate resources are provided for production processes
  • Provide input and assist the Production Manager in performance reviews of production personnel
  • Oversee the functional layout and cleanliness of production facilities.  Recommend needed changes
  • Monitor production rates and work with others in the Operations Team to resolve discrepancies
  • Possess knowledge of safety procedures and assure that they are followed

The skills/qualifications for the Floor Supervisor are:

  • Possess personality characteristics valued, including a good attitude, humility, and integrity
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, including a minimum of two years in a leadership role
  • 5+ years of job related training and experience
  • Possess training and experience in a production environment, preferably in a machine shop, or similar
  • Possess strong problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to train others, with strong communication skills
  • Ability to see the production flow, problem solve and make decisions to maintain it
  • Previous experience in contract manufacturing a plus
  • Previous experience in medical device manufacturing a plus

Education: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Diploma in a machining related course from a technical or trade school or equivalent experience required
