Finance Project Manager
Local to Lowell, MA or Weston, FL 
12+ month contract

The Finance Integration Principal Project Manager plans, coordinates and executes on activities of the Finance integration project portfolio to ensure that business goals of projects are achieved. They manage the most critical integration milestones from start to finish, coordinating cross-functional activities as well as activities performed by IT (in conjunction with IT project management).  Leveraging an understanding of finance-centric goals and activities, the Finance Integration Principal Project Manager will work within the Financial Integration Program Office to influence decisions and realize value from merger-related initiatives. In addition to process-centric activities, the Finance Integration Principal Project Manager will coordinate finance experts to bring particular focus to scoping, requirements gathering and satisfaction, change management, communications, stakeholder analysis, performance measurement, business process optimization, testing and training.
The Finance Integration Principal Project Manager will have the following responsibilities:
  • Positively influence the Finance and Finance Integration Program Office through the advocacy of project management discipline and motivation for measured progress to the end goals
  • Establish work plans for each phase of projects, negotiating resource availability
  • Improve communication and collaboration between Finance and IT stakeholders through relationship-building and understanding of respective challenges
  • Communicate weekly status of individual projects to team members and champions
  • Escalate project issues including timing, budget, resources, etc., to management team with recommendations to mitigate issues
  • Mentor other project management and business analyst resources in the benefits and the execution of the project and portfolio management disciplines
  • Propagate basic project management competencies throughout the Finance organization through role modeling and coaching
  • Foster a continuous improvement mind set and global focus throughout the Finance teams and promote adoption of new concepts and ideas
  • Identify any issues with timelines or completion of projects ahead of time and work through with internal customers
  • Facilitate working sessions for team-based activities
  • Develop cross-organizational business relationships and integrate project activities across teams
  • Collaborate with technical resources including developers, analytics, business analyst and quality professionals as well as global business team members
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required tasks
  • Validate all documentation and deliverables are complete
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Experience working with Finance and/or Accounting teams on day-to-day operations or on improvement initiatives
  • Minimum 10 years business experience the areas of business process and/or business applications
  • Proven continuous improvement focus in prior roles
  • Proven experience managing multiple, concurrent projects
  • Demonstrated capability to manage cross-functional teams
  • Experience in multiple project management methodologies including Agile or similar
  • Experience in technology application development and system integration
  • PMP and/or Agile certification is a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal in English
  • Advanced influencing & leadership skills to direct cross-functional resources & resolve conflict
  • Results focused, detail oriented, and the ability to transform ambiguity into clarity
  • Strong customer-focus combined with services business acumen
  • Ability to evaluate problems, challenge norms & identify & drive innovation
  • Change management acuity and ability to influence decision makers
  • Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to simplify complex topics and processes for sharing with teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint and collaboration applications
  • Proficiency in standard project management tools
