A fast-growing biomedical company located in West Sacramento, CA has an exciting opening on their team for a Program Manager. The Program Manager - Microbiology position will be overseeing the execution of two programs. As the leader of a cross-functional team, this position holds primary responsibility of overseeing the product development process for these programs within the Microbiology medical device project portfolio.


  • Manage budget, schedule, resources, and performance of the program and achievement of QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) metrics for their programs.
  • Make or facilitate project trade-off decisions while identifying and driving countermeasures in instances when project is overdue or exceeding budget. Routinely communicate project goals, status, requirements, gaps, and countermeasures to the Business Unit Product Planning Group.
  • Maintain continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives.
  • Possesses sophisticated skills in leadership, communication, influence, cross-cultural awareness, influence, and conflict resolution.
  • Work cross-functionally and collaborate frequently with Research and Development, Operations, Supply Chain/Procurement, Quality, Regulatory, and Marketing; additionally, working cross-site/time zones will be equally important in achieving maximum impact.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Engineering, Business, Management or a related field with 5+years of proven experience or a master’s degree with 7+ years of experience.
  • Work experience should include a minimum 3, preference 5+ years in program/project management with proven track record leading system projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), or equivalent experience.
  • Strong motivational leadership skills and the ability to influence others without direct authority.
  • It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: ISO and FDA regulated environment experience.
