Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Troubleshoots and repairs pneumatic and electromechanical automated assembly machines to include: Adjusting and repairing of pneumatic valves and air actuators. Checking and troubleshooting electrical circuits. Adjusting and programming vision systems. Troubleshooting and repairing electrical sensors. Performs preventative maintenance on all production equipment using Express Maintenance program to include: Cleaning of equipment. Lubricating mechanical parts. Changing air or lube filters. Maintaining welding electrodes. Replacing punches and dies. Replacing misc. parts such as batteries, springs, screws, wear items, etc. Utilizes Express Maintenance program to schedule work orders, report repairs, and manage spare part and record maintenance to include: Developing maintenance schedules. Receiving and performing scheduled maintenance. Generating work orders. Inventorying and requisitioning spare parts and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished. Performs machine change overs and setups to include: Changing tooling such as grippers, nests and punch and dies. Changing out feeder bowls and parts feeders. Changing programming setup. Performing test run to achieve first good part. Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists. Inspects or tests damaged machine parts and marks defective areas or advises supervisors of repair needs. Sets up and operates machines and adjusts controls to regulate operations. Transports machine parts, tools, equipment, gases and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, fork lifts, hoists, or dollies. Experience/Skills Required: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Basic knowledge of electrical wiring. Good communication skills and ability to understand verbal and written instruction. Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and work over equipment for long periods of time. Ability to work and handle very small parts (.003 diameter). Ability to be a good team player and to work with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to work with hand tools and possibly run semi-automated machines. Ability to learn and understand dimensions on drawings. Basic understanding of computers and demonstrate ability to learn. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Abilty to determine/recognize color coding. Ability to remember maintenance and production procedure/processes performed in the past. Ability to train others in processes. Minimum Educational Requirements HS Diploma (or equivalent) preferred. Mechanical training preferred. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
