Assistant Traffic Clerk


  • Responsible for routing inbound and outbound shipments in an efficient and cost effective manner. 
  • Insuring all paperwork for the shipping & receiving departments is completed and maintained in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Interacting daily with various support departments, maintaining procedure manual, routing guide and training new associates. Backs up the Traffic Manager in all functions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Train new associates and new procedures.
  • Must be able to perform all Level I, Level II and Level III responsibilities.
  • Maintain and update procedure manual for the department.
  • Act as point of contact for customer service requests.
  • Establish and maintain maintenance of proper filing and record retention system.
  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the Traffic Department.
  • Maintain and update the manual and the collect routing guides.
  • Maintain the routing/rating program in WMS system.
  • Review, monitor daily reports to ensure that order aging rules are followed and work with appropriate individuals to handle issues when necessary.
  • Manage volume of orders released to the warehouse to maintain appropriate daily workload.
  • Compile statistics and prepare various reports for management.
  • Attend various meetings and interact with support departments and all levels of management.
  • Work with DC associates and be able to identify/correct shipping discrepancies, such as picking or packing errors.

  • Experience working with a WMS
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft excel and be able to prepare reports for management
  • Logistics background, negotiating rates and discrepancies


This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Direct Hire; Salary is $25/hour
Working hours: M-F 7 am to 4 pm
