Description

Long standing family-owned manufacturing company in the western Twin Cities metro has an immediate opening on their team for an Electronic Control Technician. This 1st shift, direct hire opportunity offers great benefits and a welcoming working environment. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Electronic Control Technician

  • Uses electrical/electronic expertise to troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain programs and equipment.
  • Improves safety and function of equipment using programmable logic
  • Creates and reads schematics and diagrams.
  • Improves equipment safety through ergonomic improvements, machine guarding, and safe work
  • Oversees fabrication and installations to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to
  • Assists in the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and
  • Collaborates with the Production department to ensure a high-quality product is delivered to the customer on time.
  • Contributes to the implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices, such as 5-S, value stream mapping, poke yoke (defect prevention), continuous improvement, visual management, and other Lean tools to improve worker efficiency and reduce waste of materials and
  • Confers with appropriate team members to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
  • Documents critical processes and defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusion
  • Demonstrates innovation, teamwork, strategic planning, and organizational support to achieve goals while utilizing problem solving and project management


Qualifications of the Electronic Control Technician 

  • Associate degree in Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or related field preferred 
  • 2 years of related work experience
  • ERP system software experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience in industrial controls (PLC programming, Variable Frequency Drives, E)
  • Lean/6-Sigma certification desirable

Skills and Abilities of the Electronic Control Technician

  • Strong skills in CADKey or AutoCAD and PLC programming software
  • Strong leadership ability and teambuilding skills
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Strong analytical skills including design and technical skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
