Payroll Administrator – DIRECT HIRE

Our client in Suwanee, GA has an immediate opening for a Payroll Administrator. This role is responsible for overseeing payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The Payroll Administrator will work in a high-volume office, processing and managing changes for over 250 employees nationwide. We are looking for a team player with an outgoing personality as in this role, you will work collaboratively with an HR team of skilled professionals in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, demonstrating precision and expertise, to maximize efficiency and productivity.

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of multi-state payroll for employees; reviews and ensures accuracy of approved timesheets; tracks and deducts all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to questions regarding payroll from employees and managers.
  • Manages Leave changes in system and completes appropriate paperwork.
  • Assists with process improvement for the payroll department. * Assist with periodical audits (internal, financial and tax authorities).
  • Performs file imports into payroll system from various sources and reviews and verifies payroll data in a timely manner.
  • Prepares off-cycle payrolls and manual checks, as necessary.
  • Perform troubleshooting, advanced analysis, reporting, quarter-end and year-end audits, and research related to payroll processing.
  • Conducts regular payroll reporting as required on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly basis (i.e. gross pay, YTD, hours worked, PTO accrual, tax deduction, benefit deduction, etc.); assists the annual 401k audit and proper filing of the annual Form 5500; assists with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger.
  • Assists in processing year-end reports and reconciles W-2 information for accuracy; reports and documents any discrepancies in payroll processing to maintain clear record of reconciliation and adjustments.
  • Maintain discretion and professionalism with employees and vendors.
  • Administers the entry of new hires and removal of terminated employees from payroll and appropriate carrier systems.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of E-Verify for all new hires.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and report analysis to maintain ACA compliance.
  • Manage employee leaves including communications around return to work, benefit premium deductions, FMLA, and short term disability.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 4+ years of multi state payroll experience
  • Proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite of software to include Outlook, Word and Excel (Strong skills)
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a self-starter who can prioritize tasks and manage deadlines.
  • Must possess critical thinking skills and enjoy problem solving.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • The job requires a comfort level with change, the ability to adapt to change and the ability to recover quickly from adversity.
  • Core hours can be longer during payroll processing days and must be able to work overtime especially during year-end.
  • FPC or CPP
  • Experience with ADP
  • Affordable Care Act experience


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to demonstrate learning agility.
  • Ability to learn and apply basic concepts in new situations.
  • Organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, set priorities, and follow up in a timely manner.
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment as well as work independently and make sound decisions.
